The person in this role will act as a buddy to employees of Plantix while aligning the people's initiatives with the business objectives. He/she will advocate & formulate various people initiatives that drive high performance, rich culture, world class people experience with true sense of serving people as their customers.

Our desired People Partner is expected to possess a proven track record in agile IT start-ups with dynamic and growth mindset and have been a go-to person when it comes to accepting aspirational business goals and driving it through people. The role will significantly evolve and provide scope for growth to the ranks of Lead People Partner within a span of 12-18 months based on meritorious contributions. This position will report to the VP - People & Culture.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a People Partner, you will be responsible for …

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

  • Drive talent acquisition initiatives, both lateral and campus using cost-effective hiring solutions within the timelines meeting the business needs

  • Build a top class talent pipeline for the current and future needs, offer recommendation of talent attraction from competitor companies

  • Manage recruitment metrics like funnel, offer to joining, positions TAT, hiring cost etc. and identity areas of improvement

  • Strategize and deliver a top class onboarding experience to all newcomers both remotely and physically enabling them to know the cultural, social & political nuances of Plantix

  • Travel with new comers in the first 3 months of joining as to reduce honeymoon leaving and reducing churn

Learning & Development:

  • Co-driving training interventions including soft skills development, hr policies & processes and improve overall understanding of practices in the organization

  • Offer recommendations to people leaders and functional leaders on fresher training, technical training, role based learning and coaching sessions to deserving employees


  • Prepare, maintain and update employee data in our Zoho systems

  • Process and maintain periodic reports of employee record data and develop reports and dashboards

  • Work closely with the other HR team members to administer and support all HR system technologies and enhancements that improve HR operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Use various methods and techniques and make data-based decisions on direct financial, indirect financial and nonfinancial compensations.

Staff Mobility (promotions, relocations, job transfers/rotations):

  • Help staff in smooth transition during change in roles or departments or managers treating them like a new employee.

  • Aid employees traveling for business meetings, arranging travel, accommodation ensuring comfort through the journey.

  • Process relocation allowances, provide support while employees relocating for business goals.

  • Use various methods and techniques and make data-based decisions on direct financial, indirect financial and nonfinancial compensations.

Total Rewards:

  • Create and utilize standard processes and or knowledge articles to respond consistently to Reward & Recognition inquiries.

  • Execute cyclical reward schemes, annual variable pays based on performance reviews.

  • Develop an ecosystem of merit based instant recognition and rewards that will result in high performance culture.

Org Structures:

  • Maintain consistency in reporting structure as per the roles, deliverables and ensure alignment within small groups.

  • Constantly check for needs in change of structures as to help the employee transition into the new environment, as to avoid confusion during performance reviews.

Policies & Practices :

  • Constantly upgrade and maintain policies of the key result areas and stay abreast of any improvements that may be deemed fit to match the industry, talent and business needs.

  • Act as employee advocate and vice versa with the business leaders as to ensure compliance of policies defined as per the organizational goals.

  • Ensure world class HR practices are followed with the specified areas of the role.

Performance Management:

  • Religiously drive company performance management programs on a monthly / quarterly basis aligning the business objectives, identify areas of performance improvements, suggest and implement ideas along with the people leader.

  • Inculcate the culture of performance and merit-based recognition across the company and offer support to staff in constant improvement of delivery standards.

  • Drive open feedback systems, record and create dashboards for identification of gray areas and recommendations for improvement.

  • Analyze the impact of employee performance interventions on organizational performance from time to time and align the functional managers with the business goals.

Compensation & Benefits :

  • Develop and execute a consistent compensation philosophy under the guidance of the people leader in line with work culture and organizational objectives

  • Ensure that compensation practices are in line with the local legislative laws

  • Assist the people leader in defining a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation and benefits package that fits and is aligned to our company’s strategy and business goals

  • Use various methods and techniques and make data-based decisions on direct financial, indirect financial and nonfinancial compensations

Job requirements

Education & Experiences

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in human resources / organizational psychology / business management.

  • Master’s degree in human resources / organizational psychology / business management would be advantageous.

  • Good academic record throughout the career.

  • Minimum 3 years of HRBP experience in IT start-ups.

  • Max overall experience of 7 years in Human Resources.

  • Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in human resources function.

  • Prior experience in an Agritech / Food Tech / E-commerce company would be advantageous.


  • Excellent communication skills -reading, emailing, speaking.

  • Top class client service skills thriving to create delight.

  • Independent problem-solving and quick decision-making skills.

  • Rich public speaking skills to negotiate with or convince with ideas in a large crowd setup. Tech savviness to play with HR tools to the best possible use.
